Week #42 - Vision

Nehemiah 1:1 - 2:10
August 3rd, 2019

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans that I have in mind for you,” declares Adonai, “plans for shalom and not calamity—to give you a future and a hope.  “Then you will call on Me, and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart.

The Power of a Vision

YHWH has placed within us His potential of what He will do in our life.

It is important for us to know where we are and where we are going.

If we don’t, we limit what YHWH will do in our life.

Without a clear vision, we will be distracted by what the world has to offer. Vision causes our day to be full of purpose.

Vision may cause us to leave where are, leave those who aren’t qualified to go with us, and go somewhere we have never been before.

Disclaimer!!!

Key # 1.

  • Vision will always prompt a level of dissatisfaction.

  • Nehemiah lived at high level of influence. He had the king’s ear.

  • He was the king’s cupbearer, you could say, “the king’s life was in his hands.”

  • Nehemiah, physically was in Persia, but his heart was in Jerusalem.

  • He had an occupation, cupbearer, but he had a pre-occupation of the purpose for what he was born for.

Our true work is to do what we are born to.

A growing dissatisfaction is the first step YHWH does to cause us to move on.

When we are called to something greater, we will never be satisfied until we step into what YHWH has called us to.

The vision YHWH gives us, not only will we see it, others will to.

Luke 2:49 He said to them, “Why were you searching for Me? Didn’t you know that I must be about the things of My Father?”

Yeshua His purpose on earth.

Key #2

  • Vision poses a question which demands an answer.

  • YHWH is asking “What is your request?” What do we, you, I want out of life?

  • There is more to life than what we accumulate.

Luke 12:15 Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on guard against all kinds of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the material goods he possesses.”

  • Life is more about who we become than what we have.

As Nehemiah fasted and prayed and was will to leave his “comfort zone”, we to need to do whatever it takes to accomplish the vision.

When YHWH gives us a vision to build, expand His Kingdom, there is an internal pull we can’t get away from.

It is a pull within that may be difficult to articulate.

We just know.

It is important to get into a place of solitude with YHWH to discover what problem we were created for to solve.

Key #3

  • Vision never tries to recapture the past.

  • Dwelling on the past keeps us from moving forward.

  • It is imperative we never settle for what we currently have.

  • People with vision are an irritation to those who settle with what they currently have or where they are.

  • Vision is always pushing the “envelope.”

  • Vision by its very nature demands change.

  • We are created to be more than where/what we are now.

  • Vision will always keep us moving forward.

Key #4

Vision unlocks what is hidden within us. What ever we were born to, we are equipped to accomplish it.  (Ephesians. 3:20)

Power = Potential YHWH will unlock this power within us. (Ephesians. 2:10)

There is a level of potential within us which we will not fully realize until we step into the vision YHWH has given us.

YHWH not only gives us the vision, but also the provision.

When we step into the vision YHWH provides the provision.

Notice-the pro-before the vision.

YHWH has already supplied what is needed to accomplish His Vision.
