What does it mean that God speaks in a still small voice?
Zechariah 4:6 And he answered and said to me, “This is the word of יהוה to Zerubbaḇel, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ said יהוה of hosts.
Exodus 19:16-19 And it came to be, on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain. And the sound of the ram’s horn was very loud, and all the people who were in the camp trembled. And Mosheh brought the people out of the camp to meet with Elohim, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
And Mount Sinai was in smoke, all of it, because יהוה descended upon it in fire. And its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace, and all the mountain trembled exceedingly.
And when the blast of the ram’s horn sounded long and became louder and louder, Mosheh spoke, and Elohim answered him by VOICE.
Deuteronomy 18:16 according to all you asked of יהוה your Elohim in Ḥorĕḇ in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of יהוה my Elohim, nor let me see this great fire any more, lest I die.’
1 Kings 19:11-12 And He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before יהוה.” And see, יהוה passed by, and a great and strong wind tearing the mountains and breaking the rocks in pieces before יהוה – יהוה was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake – יהוה was not in the earthquake, and after the earthquake a fire – יהוה was not in the fire, and after the fire a still small voice.
2 Corinthians 4:4 “The God of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God.”
So blindness keeps us from seeing the glory in the same way that deafness keeps us from hearing the glory or hearing the voice.
We are deaf and we are blind so that when the WORD is preached we don’t see the glory of Messiah and we don’t hear the voice of the Master, Yeshua.
John 10:27 “My sheep hearG191 (G191, akouō, from H8085, SHEMA, HEAR AND DO) My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me…BUT
TOO MANY UNBELIEVERS AND BELIEVERS…
His voice is an alien voice.
It is a boring voice.
We are not interested in the voice of the God that is speaking through the Word, the Torah, The Prophets and the Review, Called the Brit.
So God opens the eyes of the heart
He opens the ears of the heart so that the beautiful glory of Yeshua is seen and the beautiful voice of ha Mashiach is heard.
Acts 18:10 So speak & they will hear my voice!
Hebrews 1:1 Elohim, having of old spoken in many portions and many ways to the fathers by the prophets,
Hebrews 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, through whom also He made the ages
Sometimes you need to reflect on the past voices to learn to Distinguish His Voice‼
OH, WOW, THAT WAS God’s Voice‼
Isaiah 6:8 And I heard the voice of יהוה, saying, “Whom do I send?”
(ONLY THOSE WHO HEAR MY VOICE‼)
And who would go for Us?” And I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
